John started in the business with Denver, CO-based Van Schaack, then a leading brokerage firm in the Front Range of Colorado, in 1972. He had a Bachelors Degree in agriculture business and also had earned a Masters Degree in economics.
A Colorado native, who grew up in a small town, John understands Colorado sellers and buyers as well as anyone who’s ever been in the business. A former owner of The Kentwood Company, John has led his company in sales for several years. Over the last five years, his closed volume has averaged over $92,000,000. In 2002, John was ranked 39th in the Nation among the top 100 associates in the country by Realtor magazine. Denver’s top residential broker in 2000, 2001, 2002, and 2003, John has always described himself as a “people person”. He likes the service part of it, working with people to achieve their goals in real estate.
The key to John’s success is realizing the importance of his clients, not only for one deal, but in the long run as well. John also keeps an equal balance between new and resale homes. With new home sales, John can work with a client to create something they truly want. Chuck specializes in Denver’s higher-end residential neighborhoods. His business has been almost exclusively referral and repeat clients for many years. He is assisted by his wife of 21 years, Ann Gargotto, also a Kentwood broker. Ann was a former marketing executive and was honored as "Downtown Denver Businesswoman of the Year” in 1994. Chuck and Ann live in Cherry Hills Village and have 2 children – Jennifer, 20 years old, sophomore at New York University; and Joey, 16 years old, 10th grader at Kent Denver School .
